Amerway 900 Enviro-Clean-25 -- Amerway 900 Enviro-Clean-25 is a concentrated detergent/saponifier formulated for the efficient removal of rosin soldering flux residues and other soldering contaminates from printed circuit boards, components and other electronic parts. In a conveyorized in-line aqueous machine or soak tank cleaning system, the Amerway 900 Enviro-Clean-25 will provide excellent cleaning of assemblies, even to the highest ionic standards set forth by the electronic industry. Amerway 900 Enviro-Clean-25 is formulated to maintain its composition in a wash solution during prolonged periods of use without the addition of a defoamer.

Application:  Amerway 900 Enviro-Clean-25 was designed to be versatile in its application techniques.  This product was designed to be used with conveyorized cleaning equipment as well as soak tanks and modified dishwater units.

        For Soak cleaning a simple soak or dip tank can be used to remove any rosin or resin flux residues.  The tank should be constructed of stainless steel or high temperature plastics such as PVC or stress relieved polypropylene.  The solution make-up for the soak of dip tank should be 5-10% by volume of the concentrated detergent added to water.  For best results, the bath operating temperature should be at 120 to 150 F.  The dwell time of the printed circuit boards being cleaned will depend on the concentration of the flux residue on the boards or components.

          After removal of the components from the soak or dip tank, the printed circuit boards should be thoroughly rinsed with water to insure the complete removal of all solubilized and dispersed residues.  Spray rinsing is preferred for maximum cleanliness followed by a rinse in DI water will insure excellent cleanliness levels and good electrical characteristics.  For conveyorized in line cleaners the wide use and acceptance of semi aqueous methods of flux removal is excellent.  Multi-stage of assemblies cleaned with Amerway 900 Enviro-Clean25 can be accomplished with hot tap water or DI water, depending upon the level of cleanliness sought.  The bath make-up should be 5-10% by volume of Amerway 900 Enviro-Clean to water at 120-150 F.

Control:  Effectiveness of contamination removal can be monitored by visual inspection or ionic cleanliness testing equipment.

Materials Compatibility:  When used as recommended, Amerway 900 Enviro-Clean-25 will not damage most plastics or marking links.  Cleaning equipment construction material should not include parts such as polycarbonate, viton, neoprene, natural rubber, copper, aluminum, brass or galvanized metals.
